In the first gif, you have this boy who got chased away from high school by bullies and beat up at a dance because he was gay. This boy who’s hiding behind a slick blazer and tie and the comfort of the praise he gets from his fellow Warblers. A boy who just wants to be loved and have someone love him hack. You have a boy who’s content with where he is, but not actually happy. The look he has in his eyes when he first see’s Kurt astonishes me. It reminds me of a lost puppy who finally found a home. His eyes are full of hope. But the way his mouth falls open a little as if he can’t believe what he’s looking at, like it must be a dream makes me believe that this was love at first sight. Although some could argue that it wasn’t, this one moment makes everything they say invalid. A picture’s worth a thousand words, right? Well there you have it.

In the second gif, you no longer have a boy; you have a man (as manly as Blaine can be, anyway). He’s not hiding behind anything now. His blazer has turned into skinny jeans and suspenders and his tie has turned into a bowtie. He’s out and proud and at a public school with the person he loves, with his boyfriend. The way he looks at Kurt now is completely different yet so similar. He’s confident in who he is which makes him confident in their relationship. That smug look on his face like he knows how happy Kurt’s going to be when he find out he transferred and how happy that makes him. That deep, seductive, stare, as if he wants to ravish his boyfriend in public just because he can. But when he looks up at the last second, you catch a glimpse of the boy he was. The vulnerable boy that just wanted to be loved, but only now he realizes that he has that. He has the love that he wanted and he gets to love that person back with every inch of his being because he knows he deserves it. He knows they both deserve it.
